Integrated Document Management

Scanning and Indexing Features

Imagine reducing manual labor costs by more than 20% and document indexing time by more than 50%. Converting paper documents to digital documents saves both money and time. Advanced image capture and data recognition improves the accuracy and usefulness of digitized, computer-based information.

  • Automatic scanning and indexing using the imageWARE Scan Manager allows businesses to capture high volumes of documents quickly.
  • Easy-to-use capture tools can improve the validity and quality of your data.
  • Limited time, money, and people resources can be used more efficiently.
  • Digital documents are easier to locate and cheaper to back-up.

The imageWARE Scan Manager is used for high volume, batch scanning and indexing. Claims, loan applications, and legal documents, as well as other form types can be easily converted to digital documents for faster processing, easier storage and retrieval, and better protection of confidentiality. Documents can be captured from Canon imageRUNNER devices, TWAIN and ISIS scanners, and other digital sources such as Windows® file servers and Web servers.

Document Storage and Retrieval Features

Canon imageWARE Document Manager is the central database repository of the imageWARE Suite. It has a client-server architecture that can be easily scaled to meet growing business needs. The Document Manager is designed to reduce or replace traditional hardcopy document storage methods in the general office environment as well as to support high volume document handling applications for retrieval, archival, and records management.

imageWARE Document Manager places the power over mission-critical information back in your hands by including:

  • Multi-level access rights
  • Outside in Viewing Technology that supports over 250 file formats
  • Document binder functions
  • Import of native file formats
  • Export in native file formats and in PDF
  • Check-in and check-out functions
  • Full-text, conceptual, and attribute searches
  • System and user-defined annotations and stamps
Integrated Document Capture Features

imageWARE Document Manager Gateway, an application server that is included with the imageWARE Document Manager, enables images to be captured in real-time from multifunction networked office systems. Compatible devices include Canon's imageRUNNERTM devices, like the iR3250, and the imageRUNNER 3300i and 5000i, as well as the imageRUNNER 7200, 8500, 105, and 2010F with appropriate accessories. Images can be automatically indexed once they are captured using the Gateway Indexing System. Ultimately, the images are stored in the Document Manager database, ensuring that information is always up-to-date.

Tight integration with the imageRUNNER Mailboxes is designed to support enterprise continuity across hardware and software. Documents can be imported into the Document Manager either manually or automatically for improved workflow that seamlessly converts Mailbox documents to digital database content. This allows customers to increase the value in using office equipment technology for day-to-day document management and distribution.

Integrated Document Distribution Features

Email, fax, and print from the imageWARE Document Manager interface using simple drag and drop. MAPI, including Microsoft Outlook and Exchange, and Lotus Notes mail servers can be used. User can share documents instantly. If documents are distributed within a Document Manager binder, even the binder indexes can be distributed and retained!
